A look inside Yodobashi's innovative offices and success story

The Yodobashi success story

With an impressive past as a camera manufacturer, Yodobashi has now established itself as the second largest marketplace behind Amazon in Japan. Recently, our CEO Michaela Schenk had the opportunity to visit Yodobashi's offices and was particularly fascinated by their impressive working environment.

Innovative office space - Yodobashi convinces with digitalisation and technology

Upon arrival at Yodobashi's headquarters in Japan, it became clear that security and access control are a high priority. To enter the building, each visitor needed a special badge, which was issued at reception. This security system not only ensures the protection of sensitive information, but also demonstrates Yodobashi's commitment to a comprehensive security culture.

Once inside the building, the openness and efficiency of Yodobashi's office space became apparent. The open-plan office concept encourages collaboration and the exchange of ideas between staff. Surrounded by corridors leading to other small offices, this is where the various meetings take place, which are also organised from reception. This structured approach enables Yodobashi to ensure effective communication and smooth workflows.

In addition to its efficient space design, Yodobashi also impresses with its advanced technological equipment. The use of state-of-the-art tools and technologies is omnipresent in the offices and supports the employees in their daily work.

One of our Japanese partners is currently working on the implementation of a MAWA Brand Store at Yodobashi

"We are proud to be able to develop new ideas for collections and products together and are always happy when Ms Schenk comes to visit us on site to get to know the needs of Japanese customers even better!", says Koichi Hashitani, our MAWA partner on site in Japan.
